Sisley Le Sculpteur Review: The Contouring Body Lotion That Converted a Skeptic
Is Sisley's $310 contouring cream worth it? My honest review of the texture, ingredients and results

Honestly, I'm usually the first person to roll my eyes at "slimming" lotions. Most of them promise the world, feel like a sticky gel, and leave you standing around for ten minutes before you can pull on your jeans. So when I say Sisley Paris Le Sculpteur Intensive Contouring Care is the exception that justifies the big splurge, I mean it. It even earned a spot in my 50 Best of Beauty Awards as my Best Sculpting Body Lotion.
I'm notoriously unhinged about texture. If a formula leaves me feeling sticky, it's going straight in the trash, because I have zero patience for feeling tacky while getting dressed. I first received Le Sculpteur as a sample, and it was a rare case of instant conversion.
The gel-in-oil texture feels silky going on, then absorbs so beautifully that it practically vanishes on contact. There's no greasy film and no waiting around. It also smells like a spa, with a light herbal scent of lavender, sage, marjoram and rosemary rather than anything perfumey.
What's inside is just as thoughtful. Sisley splits the formula into a day blend (caffeine, white ginger, cedrol and pink berry oil) to help tone and define the look of skin, and a night blend (mandarin, andiroba oil and plankton extract) to smooth the look of dimpled, orange-peel texture. Shea oil and vitamin E round it out to keep skin nourished. No wonder it won a 2022 ELLE International Beauty Award!
My absolute favorite body routine is pairing Le Sculpteur with my ReFa body roller. After a steamy shower, I massage the lotion into my thighs, hips, stomach and arms with upward strokes, then follow with the ReFa, rolling upward for a few minutes on each area. Between the roller's microcurrent and massage, it feels like an at-home lymphatic drainage session, and it really works those botanicals into my skin.
Whenever I do this nightly routine, I wake up feeling (and looking, if I may say so myself) incredibly snatched! My skin feels bouncy, hydrated and firm, and my legs look smoother and more refined.
At $310 for a 200 ml bottle, Le Sculpteur is a real investment product, and no lotion is going to change your body shape. What it does is make skin look and feel smoother and firmer, and it's the only contouring lotion I've tried that I actually look forward to using every night.
