I went down my first rabbit hole of French Pharmacy beauty products about six years ago, where I researched and tested all of the cult favorite and hidden gems of the French pharmacy world. Being in my early 20’s at the time, I felt like a French cool girl telling people I only wiped my makeup off with micellar water and Homeoplasmine was my French Vaseline. Though many of my most recent beauty blog posts have been on J-beauty, my recent October trip to Paris reinvigorated my obsession with French pharmacy products. I made several stops to the French Pharmacy including the mecca: City Pharma!
Many products will forever have their cult status, but there are some new amazing brands and products that have entered the scene. In this blog post, I give French pharmacy brand overviews and their associated most popular products, best products by category, an edit of my recommended products to pick-up in Paris (or France), an edit of products widely available in the US, and an edit of products from niche retailers typically only sold in France (if you are willing to pay the hefty shipment fee). Your skin will be saying merci!

Face Lotion
These cult favorite face lotions are non-comedogenic, and have amazing results in protecting and repairing the skin.
Lotion
This Embryolisse lotion is so velvety smooth, and feels so luxurious on your skin. It definitely helps to keep your skin hydration levels up!
Ointment
Homeoplasmine can be applied in a similar way as vasaline, but it is even better! I like to put it on my lips overnight to combat chapped lips.
Dry Shampoo
Klorane’s dry shampoo is loved by so many for a reason. It is very lightweight yet effective, and does not cause irritation to the scalp. I have linked both the original and the dark hair version.
Shampoo
Phyto makes great hair products, and I especially love their shampoo and hair mask.
Hair Mask
This hair mask is very hydrating, and can also be used as a more heavy duty conditioner.
Body Scrub
This is my favorite body scrub to keep in my shower lineup. The beads are not too harsh, but is still very effective in giving a good exfoliation. It also smells super yummy!
Hydration Mist
These hydration mists are an absolute must to have in your beauty cabinet. The Avene one can especially be used if you are having irritations, which is perfect for my allergy prone skin.
Beauty Vitamins
Leave it up to the French to create beauty vitamins that actually work! My professional hairstylist also publicly recommends this product for hair growth.
Multipurpose Oil
This is the French cult dry oil which can be used on the face, hair, and even cuticles! Definitely a great staple to keep in your beauty cabinet.
Eye Mask
These Klorane eye mask patches are made with cornflower and plant-based hyaluronic acid. Put them in the fridge beforehand for a cooling effect!
Retinol/Vitamin A
A313 is a French Pharmacy favorite for anyone who integrates retinol in their skincare routine.
Hylauronic Acid Cream
Ialuset is another cult product, and helps with smoothing fine lines and skin turnover.
